Grief & Loss

Grief is a fundamental human experience. Counselling can help you to process your grief and provide you with strategies to cope with the ups and downs of your loss.

Everyone experiences the pain associated with grief and loss at some point in their lives. The process of adapting to a significant loss can vary dramatically from one person to another, triggering emotions that can be confusing, overwhelming and difficult to navigate. Grief is an extremely powerful emotion and can make it seem as though the world has stopped moving for us. The feelings associated with grief are not limited to sadness – you may also feel guilt, anger, yearning and regret.

Professional support provides individuals with the opportunity to freely express their thoughts and emotions, without fear of judgement so they can understand their grief and pain. Through grief counselling and support, Jennifer can offer you strategies to help you process your emotions and manage your grief so you can embrace life again with restored clarity and calmness. While depression and grief are not mutually exclusive, grief has the potential to trigger a depressive episode. Support may assist a person who is grieving to recognise and manage any symptoms of depression or other mental health issues.
